Good fit looks expensive (even when it actually isn’t)

Think of a piece of cheap clothing. Do you have one in mind? Good. What makes it look so cheap? Let me guess. It is the fabric and/or the fit.

Now think of an expensive-looking piece of clothing. What makes it look expensive? Again, my guess is the fabric and/or the fit.

Poor fit looks sloppy and unfinished. It has too much room in some places and not enough in others. It doesn’t bring a smile to the woman wearing it. Even the most gorgeous fabric can’t fix the cheap look of bad fit.

Good fit, on the other hand, can make even a cheap fabric look more expensive than it is. The way the garment is cut just right for the curves of the body makes it look like a premium, bespoke piece.

A well-fitting garment doesn’t have to cost more money to develop (assuming you aren’t working on a fast fashion development schedule), but the end product will have much more perceived value.
