“It is not sewing; it’s making moonlight. I’ve gone to heaven!” – Mrs. Harris
Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris is about Eda Harris falling in love. Not with somebody, but with a dress. There is something very captivating about well-made clothes. The allure comes from how they look, how they make us feel when we wear them, and how they’re made.
At one point, Mrs. Harris gets a tour of the couture atelier and falls in love all over again with the craft behind the gowns. You can’t blame her. I’d probably feel the same way. Sculpting flat fabric around a three-dimensional form is a breathtaking art.
What is your love story with fashion? As people who work in fashion, how can we introduce others to that same feeling when they encounter the clothes we make? Well-made clothing makes the wearer feel beautiful.
