Pattern Digitizing & Grading Package

Digitizing & Grading Package - women's apparel pattern digitizing and grading.

Ready to turn your paper sample patterns into digital assets?

Be able to send your patterns off to a factory without having to spend time tracing copies or waiting on shipping back and forth.

Looking to streamline your paper patterns for factory production?

What it would mean for your business if you had patterns that speed through the sewing line (saving you money)?

Want to expand your size range so you can sell to a broader audience?

Being able to offer inclusive sizing means you can attract and sell to more customers.

The Pattern Digitizing & Grading Package is for brands that have developed sample patterns on paper and need them digital or are ready to shift from producing studio one-offs to factory production. Once you send in your sample-size paper patterns, I’ll digitize and meticulously review them to make sure they are optimized for production sewing. We’ll discuss any concerns before the pattern is graded into your size range. Once done, you’ll receive back a digital, production-ready pattern file graded in your size range that will help your factory make your design with consistent quality.

The Pattern Digitizing & Grading Package includes:

pattern digitizing

The flexibility, scalability, and time savings with digitized patterns that are easy to send instantly to multiple factories.

A pattern audit to give you the assurance that you won’t be overpaying for production due to inefficient patterns that slow down the sewing line.

See what others have said:

“My only hesitation was financial. Starting your first manufactured line has a lot of costs upfront that feel risky. But it was either invest in someone who knew what they were doing or risk working with someone who didn’t which would cost me more down the line when I got to the actual manufacturing part. So going forward with you became a really easy decision.

I learned SO much from you. You went above and beyond talking to the factory and making sure things translated over to their system so that everything was accurate. I will be back again :)”

— Katie, Designer, Katie Pritchard Designs

“I enjoyed working with Alison, because I explained my worries about working with another grader & she did her best to improve upon that & really helped with her professional feedback!”

— Maria, Owner + Designer, Seven Flock

“I feel a lot more comfortable with growing my brand because I feel working with you I can consistently create and produce quality garments which will allow my business to have a good reputation to customers and manufacturers.”

— Olivia, Owner + Designer, Olivia Rae Designs

“While the quality of a garment is measured by its finishing touches, the fitting is measured by the pattern making and you know it. We have found in you a trustworthy and patient partnership who helped us in a very critical moment of the production with half our collection developed across the country. You made the process smooth and enjoyable. We can’t thank you enough!”

You might be wondering:

What is the turn-around time?

Typically the turn-around for digitizing and grading is 3-4 weeks from when I receive your patterns. If you are sending more than 5 styles or have a tight deadline, contact me to confirm my availability.

Will you digitize my patterns as is or make changes?

I will digitize patterns as is. After the pattern audit, I’ll send you a list of any concerns or mismatches and we can talk through how you would like them corrected. I will not make any fit or construction modifications to your pattern unless we have discussed changes beforehand.

Will I be able to open the finished digital pattern file?

Unless you have a CAD patternmaking system, you probably won’t be able to open the digital patterns. Save the file anyway and send it on to your factory. If you need a file type you can open, I can provide an Adobe Illustrator file at your request.

What do I need to send you?

  • Paper patterns. Pattern(s) must include this information:
    • Style name/number
    • Piece names
    • Size
    • Cut quantity
    • Grainline
    • Seam allowance indicated with separate sew line or notation on the pattern
  • Sample, technical sketch, or photos of the finished garment.
  • Size chart, size range, or grade rule that you want each pattern graded in.

So why work with me?

  • I specialize only in women’s apparel which means I have a keen knowledge about fitting for this market.
  • I have 10+ years experience developing and making patterns for women’s apparel.
  • I provide all prices to you upfront so you can plan each style profitably from the start.
